Riviera Maya
Description
The Riviera Maya of Mexico is a wonderful piece of paradise under the tropical Caribbean sun and alongside the beautiful turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, surrounded by amazing white sand that never gets so hot it burns your feet. Running from Cancun south along the highway to Tulum, the Riviera Maya includes many secluded luxurious waterfront resorts and small fishing villages as well as cities like Playa del Carmen.
Playa del Carmen is located about half-way between the Cancun International Airport and the Mayan city of Tulum. Here, you will find ferry service to the island of Cozumel and you will be able to explore the famous 5th Avenue of Playa del Carmen with an array of international shops, boutiques, restaurants and bars.
Along the Riviera Maya, you will also find the exciting archaeological water parks of Xel-Ha, Xcaret and Tres Rios—each offering wonderful but different experiences to guests. Do not miss Tulum, the only major city of the Maya located on the edge of the Caribbean Sea. Breathtaking views will be yours to enjoy. The ruins of Coba are also located nearby and offer a completely different experience.
Enjoy a refreshing swim in a cenote, dive at the largest coral reef in the northern hemisphere and become acquainted with the fascinating underwater world as you snorkel in the warm waters off Cozumel. Finally, explore the Biosphere Reserve of Sian Ka'an.
Welcome to the Riviera Maya of Mexico, where you can do as little or as much as you would like!
