Samana Local Attractions

Among the countless natural beauties to visit in Samana is the Cascada El Limon, a spectacular torrent of crystalline water, which is an obligatory visit for eco-tourism lovers.

Another highly recommended visit would be Los Haitises National Park, considered to be one of the most important Caribbean ecological reserves by its great biodiversity, with more than 700 varieties of plants, mostly endemic to the area, plus more than 100 species of birds and a large variety of mammals.

Samana Bay is world famous as well because each year from mid-January to mid-March it receives its most distinguished and faithful visitors, Humpback Whales, which migrate every winter to the area in search of warmer waters to reproduce, offering an impressive show with their jumps and demonstrations.

A place of singular beauty is also the Bay or Beach Rincon located in the area of Las Galeras; it’s an idyllic place that has hardly been touched by the human hand. This bay, flanked by headlands, national parks and nature reserves, is located on an elevated peak and offers a stunning view of the sea and the mountains, which surround it.
